Entry Requirements for the Course :- Age Limit:- Not more than 25 years at the time of commencement of the course Qualifications:- A pass in Plus-two (12th Standard) or its equivalent, with minimum 60% aggregate in Maths, Physics and Chemistry group and at least 50% marks in English. Medical Standard:- Candidates should be physically fit for sea service under standard norms, with eyesight 6/6 in better eye, 6/9 in other eye and with no colour blindness.

The minimum eligibility for courses in nautical science and Marine engineering is 10+2 or an equivalent examination with physics, chemistry and mathematics. He should also pass a medical fitness test for sea service under standard norms and with eyesight 6/6 with no color blindness. Candidates wishing to enter the navigational and engineering fields of Merchant Navy need to complete a Bachelors degree in Nautical Science or Marine engineering, before they can gain admission to the field.
