About the College
 

MASSA Maritime Academy (MMA - Navi Mumbai) located  at Great Eastern Summit, 'A' Wing, Plot No. 56, Sector 15, CBD Belapur, Navi Mumbai 400 614  is a premier Maritime Academy and a trend-setter in maritime education and training in India .

The academy was inaugurated on 02nd June 2001 by Mr. D T Joseph, Director General of Shipping, Govt. of India. It offers a comprehensive range of DGS approved Competency and Modular courses, and company-validated value-added courses for seafarers.

MMA - Navi Mumbai is a unit of Maritime Training and Research Foundation (MTRF). MTRF is a trust set up by MASSA group of companies for the purpose of meeting the training requirements of MASSA members as well as assisting the Govt. of India in the smooth implementation of maritime training activities in India. Besides MMA - Navi Mumbai, MTRF has established a training institute in Chennai called MASSA Maritime Academy (MMA - Chennai) .

Dear Santosh,

The minimum eligibility for courses in nautical science and Marine engineering is 10+2 or an equivalent examination with physics, chemistry and mathematics. He should also pass a medical fitness test for sea service under standard norms and with eyesight 6/6 with no color blindness.
Candidates wishing to enter the navigational and engineering fields of Merchant Navy need to complete a Bachelors degree in Nautical Science or Marine engineering, before they can gain admission to the field.
