Samundra Institute of Maritime Studies (SIMS) was established with an aim at developing a pool of high calibre seafarers trained at all levels to work in the increasingly demanding shipping industry.
Students are given training that is over and above mandatory international standards and successful graduates can look forward to a rewarding seafaring career in the maritime industry. Having successfully instituted a world-class Post Sea Training Facility, SIMS embarked on another visionary training project in starting a world-class Pre Sea Training Facility for deck and engine cadets. Located at Lonavala, Maharashtra, this campus complements the present post sea training offered in Govandi, Mumbai.
Both the Post-Sea Facility in Mumbai and the Pre-Sea Training Campus in Lonavala are committed to providing an outstanding maritime training opportunity to Indians that is over and above the international mandatory standards.
