The institute offer Engine Room Simulator–Operational Level. This is a full time course. The duration of the course is 3 Days. The course is approved by the Indian and Singapore Administrations. Exercises are controlled by an instructor and allow the trainees to become familiar with the equipment, the controls and the instrumentation provided by the simulator. This course trains him to look for normal engine room watch keeping, look for the parameters of the plant, identify faulty situations and rectify small faults. In case of major faults senior engineers will need to be called. The exercises make the trainees familiar with the engine room layout, various equipments and inter connection amongst various equipments and its response to the changes made at the controls in various conditions. The final exercises deal with troubleshooting and will make use of the knowledge and skills learned in all the previous exercises. Equipment failure or malfunction may be introduced during an exercise to afford trainees practice in taking emergency remedial action.
