The LL.B. 3-Year Degee Course is offered through semester system to the students admitted with effect from academic year 2001-02 as prescribed by the Bar Council of India.All the Rules and Regulations, hereinafter, specified shall be read as a whole for the purpose of interpretation. Duration:- The Duration of the course is three academic years. Each academic year is divided into two semesters. The two semesters in the first academic year are referred to as Semester I and Semester II, the two semesters in the second academic year are referred to as Semester III and Semester IV and the two semesters in III year are referred to as Semester V and Semester VI. Each semester shall comprise of 15 weeks of instruction. Eligibility:- Graduation in any discipline Admission Procedure:- A candidate for admission to LL.B. semester course has to qualify at the LL.B. Common Entrance Examination (LAWCET) for that academic year. The candidates will be admittedly strict in accordance with the merit secured at the entrance examination, keeping in view the Rules in force in respect of statutory reservation of seats under various categories of candidate.
The Faculty of Law, Osmania Univesity has a glorious history of more than 100 years. The Law class was opened in the year 1899 to give instruction in law to students desirous of legal profession along with “Judicial Test” classes for Judicial Officers. Thus teaching of Law was in existence even before Osmania University came into existence in the year 1919.
