6 MONTHS GENERAL PURPOSE RATINGS COURSE
|
Eligibility:
1. 10TH STD PASS WITH ENGLSH, MATHS, & SCIENCE AS SUBJECTS. (40% IN ENGLISH in 10th or 12th std) & ( AGGREGATE 40%)
2.MINIMUM AGE 17.5 YEARS & MAXIMUM AGE 25 YRS.
3. EYE SIGHT SHOUD BE 6 X6 & NO COLOUR BLINDNESS.

One year Diploma in Nautical Science Course
|
Eligibility :Candidates must be under 20 years of age as on date of commencement of course. He must have 6 x 6 clear vision in both the eyes without visual aids. He must not have colour blindness in the eyes.
Educational qualification : Must have passed 12 th examination securing a minimum of 55% aggregate in Maths, Physics & Chemistry and also a minimum of 50% marks in English either in 10 th or 12 th examination.
OR
B.Sc. with Physics as one of the subject and a minimum aggregate of 55% in Maths, Physics & Chemistry.
OR
B.E./B.Tech pass from any AICTE approved institution.

One year Trainee Marine Engineering Course
|
Eligibility: For Graduate engineers - Degree in mechanical / Naval Architecture. - AICTE approved B.E (marine engg.) degree is acceptable, subject to specific DGS approval only (with minimum Marks of 50% in the final year)
English Proficiency : The DG Shipping entry standards for the course prescribes that the candidate should have obtained at least 50% marks in English subject in either 10 th or 12 th standard or Degree in Engineering course, conducted by a recognized Board or any University .
Course duration: ONE year, at the end of which the candidate is eligible to apply for CDC and exemption from Part- A of MOT examination for certificate of Competency
This is a DGS approved course. Hostel stay is compulsory within our campus for the duration of the course. Boarding will be provided at the hostel.
Selection criteria: Based on written screening test and personal interview, academic credentials, aptitude. Written test will be conducted individually upon personal appearance on any working day, and result declared at the same time. Max Age 24 Years at the time of Commencement of course.
Medical: Must be physically fit, certified by registered medical practitioner. Eye sight: within plus or minus 2.5 and No colour blindness (must produce certificate from an eye specialist, ophthalmologist)

Two year Trainee Marine Engineering Course

Eligibility: For Diploma engineers - Diploma in mechanical / Marine engineering / Electrical / Electrical & Electronics / Naval architecture / Shipbuilding engineering

COC3 course at IIMS ,Karnataka after 10+2 provides you with the stipend paid on board ship training paying 10000-25000 / month. after which students get placed at salaries ranging from Rs. 1.5- 2 lacs a month. The minimum eligibility for courses in nautical science and Marine engineering is 10+2 or an equivalent examination with physics, chemistry and mathematics. He should also pass a medical fitness test for sea service under standard norms and with eyesight 6/6 with no color blindness.
Candidates wishing to enter the navigational and engineering fields of Merchant Navy need to complete a Bachelors degree in Nautical Science or Marine engineering, before they can gain admission to the field.
