B.Sc (Maritime Hospitality B.Sc (Maritime Hospitality

Duration: 3 yeas

Eligibility:-

  • Indian National in possession of Indian Passport
  • H.S.C.(10+2) or equivalent from a University of Mumbai recognised board with 50% aggregate marks in any stream (45% for backward classes) and 50% in English
  • Age restriction is 17½ to 25 yrs on the date of commencement of training
  • Original School / College Leaving Certificate for proof of age.
  • Medical Fitness Certificate from a DGS approved Doctor.
  • Original Mark Sheet of 10+2 exam & passing certificate
  • 18 Passport size photographs & 4 stamp size photographs with white shirt & light background.
BSc (Nautical Science) BSc (Nautical Science)

Duration:- 1 year

Eligibility:- H.S.C.(10+2) or equivalent from a recognised board with 55% aggregate marks in PCM subjects OR BSc with Physics, Chemistry & Maths OR Electronics with 50% marks in final year OR BE / B. Tech.& Minimum 50% in English at either 10th or 12th Std. 

Age:- Age not more than 25 yrs

Criteria:- Pass MMD eyesight test  & Medical Fitness Test

 
BSc (Nautical Science) M.U. BSc (Nautical Science) M.U.

Duration:- 3 years

Eligibility:- H.S.C.(10+2) or equivalent from a University of Mumbai recognised board with 60% aggregate marks in PCM and 50% in English

Age Limit :- Age not more than 25 yrs

Criteria:- Pass MMD eyesight test  & Medical Fitness Test
Certificate Course in Maritime Catering Certificate Course in Maritime Catering

Duration:- 25 Weeks

Eligibility:- Passed 12th Std. or equivalent (any stream) with aggregate marks of 40% and minimum of 40% in English (either at 10th or 12th Std.)

Age Limit :- Age restriction is 17½ to 25 yrs

Criteria:- Clear Medical Fitness Test

 
Maritime Catering Technology & Hotel Management Maritime Catering Technology & Hotel Management

Duration:- 2 years

Eligibility:- Passed 12th Std. with 40% aggregate & 40% in English in either 10th or 12th Std.

Age Limit :- Age restriction is 17½ to 25 yrs

Criteria:-  Clear Medical Fitness Test
Pre-Sea General Purpose Ratings Pre-Sea General Purpose Ratings

Duration:- 25 Weeks

Eligibility:- S.S.C.(10th Std.) or equivalent examination with Science and Mathematics and aggregate marks of 40% with minimum of 40% in English. (either at 10th or 12th std.)

Age Limit :- Age restriction is 17½ to 25 yrs

Criteria:- Clear Medical Fitness Test

Dear Santosh,

The minimum eligibility for courses in nautical science and Marine engineering is 10+2 or an equivalent examination with physics, chemistry and mathematics. He should also pass a medical fitness test for sea service under standard norms and with eyesight 6/6 with no color blindness.
Candidates wishing to enter the navigational and engineering fields of Merchant Navy need to complete a Bachelors degree in Nautical Science or Marine engineering, before they can gain admission to the field.
