B. S. Marine Engineering
|
The B. S. Marine Engineering programme at TMI is spread over a period of four years, structured into eight academic semesters. In addition to theoretical and practical training, students are required to participate in the co-curricular and extracurricular activities of the Institute.
Eligibility:-
Marital Status:- Only unmarried candidates will be considered.
Academic Qualifications
You must have successfully completed the Senior Secondary Examination (10+2) or its equivalent with:
* At least 60% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (P C M), and
* At least 50% marks in English either in Class X or Class XII
Admission Procedure:-
- Admission through TIMSAT or BITSAT (BITS, Pilani entrance exam) Score Merit List
- Followed by Personal Interivew
- qualify Medical Examination

B. S. Nautical Sciences
|
The B. S. Nautical Technology programme at TMI is spread over a period of four years, structured into eight academic semesters. After three years training at the campus, students will have to undergo a one-year structured training programme on board ships or other marine related activities.
Eligibility:-
Age:- Male candidates born on or after 1st September 1989 are eligible to apply for the 2010 batch. In accordance with Government of India guidelines, there is a two year age relaxation for female candidates and girls born on or after 1st September 1987 are eligible to apply for the 2010 batch.
Marital Status:- Only unmarried candidates will be considered.

Drilling & Well Service Technology - Level 1
|
The DWST program is the first course in Indian Subcontinent of its type, which is aimed at partially meeting the skilled manpower requirements in this ever growing field. There are not many known entry level standards in this industry. Taking a lead, being the pioneers in this field, the Norwegian Government has set standards for training of personnel working on Drilling units and has introduced the certification course which is now a recognized standard world-wide.
Eligibility:-
Male candidates born before 1 March 1990 are eligible to apply for admission in 2009. The date of birth as recorded on the applicant’s School Leaving Certificate will be considered for this purpose.
Candidates must have successfully completed the Secondary Examination (Class X) and (10 + 2) Science or Diploma in Engineering & above or candidates who have discontinued BE/BTech Courses midway (must have completed at least one year) or Science Graduates with good technical aptitude are eligible to apply for the DWST Level 1 course.
Candidates must meet the minimum physical fitness and medical standards set by NCT-TMI. Colour blindness and persons with congenital diseases are not eligible. It is important to note that any deficiency in this respect would disqualify a candidate from a career in the Drilling Industry subsequently also.

Higher National Diploma in Marine Engineering
|
TMI has launched a new Marine Engineering Programme leading to the award of Higher National Diploma (HND) from Glasgow College of Nautical Studies, UK. This programme is scheduled to commence from early August 2008.
Duration - 2 years
- One year in Tolani Maritime Institute (TMI) and next in Glasgow College of Nautical Studies (GCNS), Glasgow, UK
- Sea service after 2 years - 6 to 9 months (To be arranged in consultation with GCNS, UK)
- After Sea Service, the candidate will be eligible to appear for watch keeping Engineer (equivalent to Indian Class IV) exam in UK
Fees:- Rs. 3.45 Lacs
Eligibility Criteria
* Passed (10+2) in PCM stream with minimum 50% marks OR Diploma in Mech. Engg./Electrical Engg./Electronics OR B.Sc. Physics/Chemistry/Mathematics with PCM group at 10+2 level
* A candidate will have to appear in IELTS examination for English Proficiency within one year of joining at TMI, and pass with a minimum score of 5.5
* Medical fitness as per International Maritime Standards
* Age- No limit
Selection Procedure:- Short listed candidates will be called for test, interview and medicals on campus.

P & I and Risk Management Course
|
Tolani Maritime Institute, through the Distance Learning Centre, has developed a course on Risk Management, Loss Prevention and the operation of P&I clubs.
The course consists of modules on subjects such as the history of Protection & Indemnity clubs, the development of the international group of clubs and its effect on mutual insurance.
Duration:- 6 Months
Eligibility:- The holder of a Certificate of Competency issued by Government of India OR a graduate in any discipline with two years experience in a shipping related company is eligible for admission to this course.

Post Graduate Certificate Course in Marine Engineering
|
The program will be conducted at the Tolani Maritime Institute campus at Induri and the duration of this program will be four months. The program would include courses in engineering, management and project work.
Eligibility Criteria:-
Degree in Mechanical or Marine Engineering. Sailing marine engineers with Certificate of Competency of Class IV or higher will also be eligible. The campus accommodation would be available, if required.
Fees:- Rs. 3 lakhs
Commencement and Duration:- Normaly the course commences on last Monday of August each year.

COC3 course at IIMS ,Karnataka after 10+2 provides you with the stipend paid on board ship training paying 20000-25000 / month. after which students get placed at salaries ranging from Rs. 1.5- 2 lacs a month. Time period of course is 2 years( approx.) including 12-18 months of stipend paid training.Students of PCM / Commerce with Maths are eligible for one module whereas students of all three streams ARTS/SCIENCE/COMMERCE are eligible for another module . G.P.Rating for 10th , GEC for engineers for all streams to convert them to marine engineers
