The Shikshana Prasaraka Mandali, founded in 1888, is one of the pioneer Educational Societies in the State of Maharashtra. It has almost 121 years of contribution to the development of quality education by establishing Institutions in various places like Pune, Mumbai, Solapur, Chiplun, Nagothane, Bangaluru etc. and imparting education from Kindergarten to Post-graduate level and through Management Institutes and Research Centres. Prin.N.G.Naralkar Institute of Career Development and Research, Pune was started by the S.P.Mandali in 1986 to commemorate the memory of Late Prin.N.G. alias Nanasaheb Naralkar, an educationist of great foresight and repute. The Naralkar Institute is affiliated to the University of Pune. It conducts certain Post-graduate and P.G. Duration: One Year, Part Time, Two semesters Eligibility: Graduates of any Recognised Statutory University in any branch with at least 40% marks or any Diploma of MSBTE or equivalent (post S.S.C. 3 years or post H.S.C., 2 years with at least 40% marks.)
The course consists of the following five units of 100 marks each. The final exam shall be held at the end of every academic year 101 General Laws Affecting Taxation 102 Income Tax Act 1961 (as amended up to date) 103 Wealth Tax Act, Central Excise Act & Service Tax 104 Central Sales Tax Act and the Maharashtra Value Added Tax Act, 2002 105 Book-Keeping and Accountancy A candidate must secure minimum 35 marks in each paper and an aggregate of 50% on the whole to be declared as passed in the Examination. A candidate who obtains at least 50 % of the full marks in a paper shall at his option, be exempted from that paper at subsequent examination. He shall, however, have to pass remaining paper or papers in accordance with standard of passing .

A graduate of any faculty either of this University or of any other University whose degrees are recognized, are equivalent to the correspondence degrees of this University.
