University Institute of Legal Studies, Panjab University is one of the best Law institute in the city of Chandigarh. The institute was established in the year 2004 and is affiliated to Panjab University.
The department is housed in the ground floor of its newly constructed building, which when complete will have four storeys and covered area of 64,000 sq. feet. . The Institute offers B.A. LL.B (Hons.) 5 years Integrated Course. The Institute has one hundred and ten seats which are subject to reservation as per the University rules. In addition to 110 seats, there are 10 seats for NRI students. The Institute is offering B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) Five years Integrated Course. The Institute has hundred seats and in addition to these seats there are ten seats for NRI students. The hundred seats are subject to reservation as per University rules.

The hundred seats are subject to reservation as per University rules. The admission to UILS is based on combined Entrance Test conducted around 15th May by the University. The result of the entrance test is declared within one week of the entrance test. Final merit list is prepared after adding up marks of class-XII and marks of entrance examination e.g. If a student has secured 70% marks in Class-XII and 76/100 in entrance examination, then she/he will have 146/200 in the merit list.
Eligibility For Entrance Test:- In order to be eligible for admission to University Institute of Legal Studies, the candidate must fulfill the following eligibility criteria: 1. The candidate must have passed 10+2 examination of Punjab or Haryana Board of School Education CBSE/ICSE or any other Board/University recognized as equivalent to with atleast 50% marks (45% in case of SC/ST). 2. Candidates having compartment in 10+2 examination held in March shall not be eligible for admission to 1st Semester of B.A.LL.B (Hons.) 5 years Integrated Course. 3. The candidates must not be above 20 years of age as on 1st August of the year in which admission is sought to be first semester (22 years in case of SC/ST).
